Festive Friday Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Festive Friday Blog Hop! You should have just come from Angela Bodas' Blog: Midnight Crafting. She is listed before me, and I'll provide a link at the end of this post for the next person on the list.

We will be posting Christmas Cards on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month (Except December)
Get your creativity going with lots of inspiration and ideas. ENJOY.

"A Star Led the Way" card.

SUPPLIES:
Paper: GCD Studios, Winter Wonderland Collection, Stocking & Poinsettia designer paper
Hunter Green cardstock, Rattan textured paper
Rub On Alpha -Basic Grey
Super sticky tape 1/8" - 3L
Gold Foil - Rubber Stamp Concepts
The Best Glue Ever - ScraPerfect
Perfect Crafting Pouch - ScraPerfect

The striped paper is standard card size: 8.5 x 5.5 folded in half, then mounted onto green card stock and the solid red back side of the poinsettia paper toward the front and the poinsettia design shows on the back.

1. Hand cut whimsical star shape to fit the card front.
2. Spread the surface of the star with The Best Glue Ever! I used my finger. Don't be stingy.
3. Set aside and let the glue dry completely. This glue dries clear and tacky.
4. Created "rays" of star light with super sticky tape cris-crossing over the background.
5. Adhere the gold foil to the tape.
6. Adhere gold foil to the star. It will mostly apply itself to the high spots for a unique look.
7. Attach the star to the card front and rub the title alphas into place.

This picture shows the shiny effect much better, click for a larger image.

Now, off you go to Yolonda's Blog

Enjoy!

Tag/frame and journal accent from SIYH kit
Distress Ink -Ranger
Cricut alpha title -botanicals

Lucky U

I celebrate St. Patrick's Day every year, I'm Irish and although not a huge fan of cabbage and the traditional boiled ham dinner, green beer and gaudy jewelry are some of my favorite things :o)

I have NEVER made a St. Patrick's Day card. Why? I guess it's just not one of those holidays that I send out cards for..............BUT this year is a special year and the end of my BLOG give a way!!! woohoo!

I have selected 2 more winners and I will split up what is left here and ship it out to them.
Theresa firelass51@aol.com

CARD SUPPLIES:

It's a Girl!

A technique-filled birth announcement is always fun!

Supplies:
orange cardstock
red patterned paper
chipboard alpha "G"
Offray sheer white ribbon
Spellbinders flower die
white mini brad
Old paper distress Ink -Ranger
Signo white pen
sanding block
X-Acto knife
Corner rounder punch

Place the chipboard alpha behind the patterned paper, and distress with sand paper and distress ink. When sanding, apply gentle pressure around edges to create "embossed" look, or use an embossing tool such as the Spellbinders Wizard or XCalibur.

Glue the chipboard to the back of the patterned paper. If you glue first you must wait for it to completely dry, wet paper will not distress well. :o)

Using the Xacto knife, cut small slits in patterned paper on edge of chipboard letter, feed the ribbon through the paper and tie a bow as shown.

Attach the die cut/embossed flower with a mini brad, round corners of patterned paper and glue the cardfront onto the card base.

Write "it's a girl" with white pen, enclose birth announcements, VIOLA!

U Rock! Card

This week I will be sharing cards I created last week using some of the sketches from PaperCrafts Magazine.

This card is 6x6", made of black cardstock, (Frances Meyer), GCD designer paper, 2 sizes of metal washers, silver chain and a chipboard skull die cut (LazerLines). Shadow effect created with decorating chalks (ColorZ Chalk). The card front was mounted to the card with dimensional foam tape (3L) to give room for the chain that was tucked into each washer. The title is Rub ons.

A little inspiration here from my honey and daughter who are both drummers and "rock on" regularly :o)

Enjoy!

First BLOG WINNER!

THE FIRST PRIZE PACKAGE WINNER IS TENNLADY!

CONGRATS. 32 YEARS OF PHOTOS LEFT TO SCRAPBOOK -YOU NEEDS LOTS OF SUPPLIES! Lots of rub ons, stickers, papers, a card kit that was class by Ruby Tuesday, adhesives, lense cleaning pen, embellishments and much, much more!

Thank you for visiting the blog!

I'm behind on gifting, so I'm probably going to do 4 LARGE boxes!
I believe a stamper will be next............................. :o)

Oh, I am so jealous! I have an 8x8 room that is also a storeroom. To work on my sewing I have to move my laptop and Cricut.

I am heavily into scrapbooking as one of my projects is a photo album/scrapbook for my older daughter. Younger daughter's is done. Then I have 32 years of photos to go through to sort/toss/save and then eventually album/scrapbook them.

In my spare time, I play with my Cricut. I have one cartridge, but use Sure Cuts A Lot to really do what I want. Right now I seem to be collecting a lot of paper that is so pretty I don't want to use it. I'm learning to make cards, which is kind of a hit and miss situation.

Boy Baby Shower Invite!

Here is an invitation I created for a custom order for a Boy's Baby Shower invitation.
I was told that they were having a "tonka truck" themed party and I know the grammy loves and collects rocking horses. I already had conceived that I wanted "toys" on the front and it all came together!

GCD studios designer paper
4 shades of coordinating cardstock
Provocraft corner punch
Spellbinders dies: rocking horse and teddy bears
Ranger TH distress ink
